Annual Fellows is an intermediate professional development program that helps prepare development officers in the early and intermediate stages of their career in advancement for success in their ongoing service to the non-profit community.

Candidates are non-profit professionals in development or related fields (alumni affairs, public relations) in the first three years of their careers. Each class of fellows is led by an established moderator with over 15 years of experience in fundraising and non-profit management. Annual Fellows meet senior professionals who represent many views of philanthropy and its professions: private and public foundations, executive search, Board-level volunteers, senior fundraising professionals who work both independently and with institutions, and corporate philanthropy.

Each two-part session is hosted by a these professionals, usually at their home institutions. The first part of the session is an informal presentation by the host who introduces his/her institution, their approach and goals for philanthropy (whether funders, volunteers or institutional advancement professionals), as well as how he/she came to serve in his/her current role.  A question and answer period follows.  For the final portion of each session, the group engages in a discussion on a wide range of topics relating to their own careers, trends in the non-profit community, and any issues that they want to discuss with the group. Fellows are expected to be active participants in both parts of each session.

Fellows meet from 6-9 p.m., one day per month for 9 months, September through June.
