Michele Schiele, Annual Fellows ’95, new Senior VP at Stanford

Congratulations to DLC  alumna Michele Schiele, Annual Fellows ’95, who is heading west to take on a terrific new opportunity.  Michele, one of the original Clyde’s Club members, was recently announced as the the new Senior Associate Vice President in the Office of Development.  In this position Michele oversees fundraising operations including the School of Medicine and Stanford Hospital & Clinics in a continuing and enhanced Campaign for Stanford Medicine.  Michele had previously served as the Vice President and Associate Dean, Development at the University of Chicago Medical Center .

Michele credits the DLC and Clyde’s support as important factors in her success.   She regrets that she will not be in Chicago for the DLC Reunion Thursday, March 24.

Ken Bigger, Management Fellows ’10, has taken on a new job as Senior Director for Individual Giving at YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago.  Previously Ken had worked as a consultant for the Erikson Institute, Preckwinkle for President Campaign, and Grenzebach Glier and Associates. (01/11)

Bridget Luby, Annual Fellows ’00, received a promotion from Director of Major Gifts to Special Assistant (Consultant) to President & CEO at Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.  Bridget is also the DLC Class Agent for Annual Fellows ’00. (10/10)

Craig Morris, Annual Fellows ’06, recently became Director of Individual Giving at Center on Halsted from Director of Development at Kaleidoscope .   Craig is also the DLC Class Agent for Annual Fellows ’06. (10/10)

Earlier in 2010, former DLC Board member and alumna Aliya (Niazi) Pitts, Annual Fellows ’06, became Vice President of Advancement at St. Catherine’s High School.  Aliya previously served as Associate Vice President at Ter Molen Watkins & Brandt LLC. (03/10)

Former DLC Board member and alumna Kim Whalen, Annual Fellows ’95, is now serving as the Assistant Professor of Library Services – Health Sciences Librarian at Valparaiso University.   Previously Kim was Librarian, Career Resource Centers at University of Chicago Booth School of Business.(09/10)

DLC Fellows are on the move! A number of our alumni have taken on new roles in fundraising and philanthropy across the country. The listing below is a sample of career moves this year (month/year denoted):

 Earlier this year former DLC Board member and alum Greg Barrett, Annual Fellows ’98, accepted a position as the President at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. Prior to this role, Greg was the Associate Vice Chancellor, Health Sciences Development at University of California San Diego. (01/10)

Laurie Carlin Davidson, Annual Fellows ’96, has moved into a new role at Northwestern University to Director, Leadership Giving from Director of Development School of Education and Social Policy. (09/10)

Current participant Tess Hallinan, Annual Fellows ’11, has been promoted from Development Associate, Principal Gifts at Illinois Institute of Technology to Alumni Relations and Development Officer at the Institute of Psychology at Illinois Institute of Technology. (09/10)

Earlier this year, Katrice (Grayson) Lee, Annual Fellows ’08, moved out of state to take a position as Associate Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations at University of California at San Diego. Katrice was previously the Assistant Director, Corporate Relations at Northwestern University. (04/10)

DLC Board member and alum Steve Lindee, Management Fellows ’09, is now serving as the Director of Development at Northwestern University School of Law, most recently Steve was the Director of Sustaining Gifts at Lewis University.(09/10)

Recent graduate Maureen Loughnane, Management Fellows ’10, has taken on a new job at the ACLU of Illinois as the chief Development Officer. Previously Maureen served as the Senior Associate Director of Development, Interdisciplinary Programs at The University of Chicago. (08/10)

Sheila Manion, Annual Fellows ’97, formerly the Director of Development and Campaign at the Saint Louis Art Museum has accepted a role at Saint Louis University as Associate Vice President for Development. Shana Melanson, Annual Fellows ’09, received a promotion from Senior Development Associate at University of Chicago Medical Center to Assistant Director, Individual Giving. (11/10)

DLC Board member and alum Ken Modzelewski, Annual Fellows ’01, recently accepted a position as Northern Division Director, Philanthropy Midwest Division from Director of Major Gifts at the University of Chicago Medical Center. (09/10)

Stephanie Oberhausen, Annual Fellows ’10, has moved from Director of Development for the School of Music at DePaul University to Senior Associate Director of Principal Gifts at University of Chicago Booth School of Business. (10/10)

Current participant Nicole Payton, Annual Fellows ’11, is now serving as the Associate Director of Major Gifts at Northwestern University. Previously, Nicole was Assistant Director of Major Gifts at University of Chicago Medical Center Development. (10/10)

Double-DLCer Melissa Maggiotto Wall, Annual Fellows ’01 and Management Fellows ’08, is now the Director, Capital Campaign at Chicago Public Media from her previous role at the Museum of Science and Industry as a Major Gift Officer. (03/10)

Allison Ward, Annual Fellows ’09, was promoted from Development Assistant to Coordinator of Restricted Gifts at Museum of Contemporary Art- Chicago. (08/10)
